TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Afternoon storms could slow commutes and outdoor plans across Tallahassee Monday, with a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms developing after 1 p.m. Temperatures are expected to climb near 88°F, with light east winds offering little relief from the sticky air.

According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, isolated thunderstorms could bring brief downpours and gusty winds before tapering off this evening. Rainfall amounts should stay light—generally under a quarter inch—but locally higher totals are possible where storms linger.

Tonight will be partly cloudy with lows around 71°F, setting up for a mostly sunny and drier stretch through midweek. Highs will reach near 89°F Tuesday and 90°F Wednesday under bright skies. The next minor rain chance returns late Thursday, but no widespread weather disruptions are expected.

Residents are advised to use caution on wet roads this afternoon and stay alert for brief lightning or localized flooding in low-lying spots.
