TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – A stretch of late-summer heat will grip Tallahassee through early next week, with highs hovering near 90 degrees each afternoon and little relief from cloud cover or rain.

According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, skies will remain sunny from Friday through Monday, with overnight lows dipping into the mid to upper 60s. Winds will stay light, mainly out of the northeast at 5 to 10 mph, offering minimal cooling.

The dry pattern means outdoor activities and events across Leon County and surrounding areas will be free from rain delays, but residents should prepare for hot afternoons. Hydration, sun protection, and limiting time outdoors during peak heat are advised. Roadways such as I-10 and U.S. 319 will see clear travel conditions, though heat buildup on pavement could create extra wear on tires.

Sunday and Monday bring highs of 88 to 90 degrees, with the same clear, dry trend continuing into midweek. No storms or tropical systems are expected to disrupt the Panhandle through the five-day period.

Conditions remain steady, but forecasters caution that heat and sun exposure will be the main concerns heading into next week.
