Tallahassee, FL – Heavy rain and potential flash flooding are expected across the Florida Panhandle starting Tuesday morning as a cold front moves into the region. Forecasters warn of widespread rainfall between 2 to 4 inches, with localized totals reaching up to 7 inches near the coastline.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Tallahassee, the greatest flood risks will affect areas along U.S. 98 and major urban centers like Panama City and Tallahassee. Poor drainage areas, especially near highways, could see rapid water accumulation. The main hazards include flash flooding, strong wind gusts, and a small chance of isolated tornadoes during Tuesday morning and afternoon.

Residents should remain cautious and avoid driving through flooded roadways. Flash flood watches may be issued by late Monday evening. The NWS advises monitoring updates and preparing for possible weather-related disruptions through Wednesday morning.
