Chicago, IL – A popular line of children’s plush bags sold at Primark stores in Illinois and across the country has been recalled due to a choking and ingestion hazard, federal officials announced this week.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recall issued Wednesday affects about 2,900 units of the “DTR Plush Bag Stitch” and “DTR Plush Bag Angel.” The recall was prompted after it was discovered that the zipper pull on the back of the bags can detach, creating a risk of serious injury or death if swallowed by a child.

The affected plush bags, featuring Disney characters Stitch in blue and Angel in purple, were sold for approximately $6 at Primark stores in Illinois, Florida, Maryland, and northeastern states from March 2024 through October 2024. They measure about 10 inches in length and 8 inches in width and include a swing tag care label hanging off the side.

No injuries have been reported at this time.

The CPSC recommends consumers stop using the bags immediately and keep them out of reach of children. Customers are advised to return the product to any Primark store for a full refund. The items were imported by Primark US Corp., based in Boston, and manufactured in China.

This recall has been designated as a Fast Track Recall by the CPSC under recall number 25-294.

For more information or to report a recall-related issue, consumers can visit cpsc.gov or contact Primark directly.
