Miami, FL – Florida residents are bracing for a sweltering heat wave as a heat advisory remains in effect for all of South Florida through this evening. With heat index values expected to reach between 105-110°F, the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued urgent safety measures.

According to the NWS Miami office, the advisory, which began early Sunday, emphasizes the importance of staying indoors in air-conditioned spaces and spending time in the shade when outdoors. Residents are also advised to remain hydrated by drinking plenty of water and avoiding alcohol. Special caution is urged for vulnerable groups, including children and the elderly, who are most at risk from extreme heat.

Today’s forecast includes a 45% chance of rain with temperatures peaking at 92°F. The upcoming week remains hot with Monday expecting a high of 89°F and a 55% chance of rain. Tuesday through Friday will see consistent highs around 91°F with clear skies forecasted from Wednesday onward.
