Florida’s Atlantic coast is already roaring this morning. Palm fronds whip sideways in Jacksonville, and flags snap tight in a stiff northeast wind. By late morning, driving across the Dames Point Bridge and along I-95 will feel noticeably harder.

A Wind Advisory remains in effect from 9 a.m. through midnight, with sustained northeast winds 25 to 35 mph and gusts up to 45 mph . According to the National Weather Service in Jacksonville, those gusts can blow around unsecured objects and down small tree limbs. Isolated power outages are possible.

High-profile vehicles will struggle on open roadways. Secure outdoor furniture now.

At the beaches, conditions turn more dangerous as the day progresses. A High Rip Current Risk is in effect through Sunday evening, and a High Surf Advisory begins this afternoon . Breaking waves build to 5 to 7 feet late today, then increase to 8 to 10 feet Sunday. Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions are expected along Duval, St. Johns, Nassau, and Flagler county beaches.

Inexperienced swimmers should stay out of the water.

Despite the wind, temperatures reach the mid-60s today, then rebound to 71 Sunday. The pattern shifts warmer Monday with highs near 76 and a slight shower chance. Tuesday pushes near 80 with a 20 percent chance of afternoon thunderstorms. By Wednesday, highs climb to 82 before steadier rain chances increase late week.

Plan for strong crosswinds through tonight and hazardous surf into early Monday. Conditions improve gradually as winds ease Monday.

Longer-range trends favor warmer-than-normal temperatures into early April.

Five-Day Outlook for Jacksonville:
Sunday: Partly sunny, 71.
Monday: Slight shower chance, 76.
Tuesday: Slight storm chance, 80.
Wednesday: Partly sunny, 82.
Thursday: Sunny, 86.
