Florida starts the morning mild and quiet, with soft fog clinging to low spots west of downtown Tallahassee. Temperatures hover near 60 degrees after sunrise, and the air already feels primed for a warm March afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, skies turn mostly sunny today with highs near 80 degrees. East winds remain light around 5 mph. Patchy fog fades quickly, but drivers along I-10 and U.S. 27 should watch for brief visibility drops through mid-morning.

Clear and calm conditions settle in tonight with lows near 57. Midweek heat builds fast. Highs climb to 83 degrees Wednesday under mostly sunny skies, with patchy fog again possible early. Thursday stays warm, reaching 82 degrees with morning fog giving way to sunshine.

By Friday, moisture increases. A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms develops after 1 p.m., with highs near 84 degrees. While severe weather is not currently expected locally, a more active pattern across the southern Plains and Deep South bears watching.

This stretch signals a true warm spell for North Florida. Hydrate during afternoon activities and pace outdoor work during peak heat.

We spring clocks ahead at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 8. Longer daylight and Spring Vibes continue into early next week. The 6- to 10-day outlook favors above-normal temperatures across Florida, keeping highs in the 80s through much of the first full week of March.

Enjoy the sunshine today, but stay weather-aware late week. Are you noticing thicker fog in your neighborhood this morning?
