Jacksonville, FL – A widespread Frost Advisory has been issued across much of northern and central Florida for the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 12, as temperatures are expected to drop into the low to mid-30s, according to multiple National Weather Service offices.

The advisories cover areas including Jacksonville, Palm Coast, St. Augustine, Daytona Beach, Leesburg, Brooksville, Inverness, and Sumter County, with frost likely to form between midnight and 8 a.m. EST Wednesday.

Forecasters warn that frost could damage or kill sensitive plants, especially in low-lying inland areas where colder air tends to settle. Lows near 32°F are expected in Sumter and Hernando counties, while coastal and urban areas may remain slightly warmer, near 35–37°F.

Winds are forecast to stay light, allowing for optimal frost development under clear skies. The National Weather Service urges residents to cover plants, bring potted vegetation indoors, and ensure pets have a warm shelter overnight.

Temperatures are expected to rebound quickly after sunrise Wednesday, with highs returning to the 60s by afternoon.
