In response, the weather service advises drinking plenty of fluids, wearing lightweight clothing, and staying out of direct sunlight as much as possible.
The good news is that afternoon thunderstorms are likely to bring relief. There is a 60% to 70% chance of thunderstorms today, which could help cool down the sizzling temperatures. The weather pattern is expected to continue into the weekend, with scattered thunderstorms and slightly lower temperatures forecasted.
The 10-day forecast for Tampa shows temperatures remaining in the low to mid-90s, with daily chances of thunderstorms. Saturday and Monday both have a 35% chance of rain, while Tuesday’s forecast indicates a 45% chance of storms. The potential for thunderstorms decreases later in the week, with temperatures still hovering around the 90-degree mark.
