Miami, FL – Hazardous weather continues to impact South Florida as dense fog, high rip currents, and marine warnings remain in effect through Thursday. Residents and visitors are urged to exercise caution, especially along the Atlantic beaches and coastal waters.
According to the National Weather Service, dense fog is expected to reduce visibility across much of South Florida early Thursday morning, particularly affecting commuters and those traveling on major routes like I-95. Hazardous marine conditions will also persist, with strong winds and rough seas creating dangerous conditions for boaters and swimmers.
A high risk of rip currents is forecast to remain along the Atlantic coastline, posing a serious safety threat to beachgoers. Officials advise avoiding swimming in the ocean until conditions improve, which is expected later in the week.
Thursday’s weather is projected to be mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of showers, especially in the morning. Daytime highs will reach 71°F with northwest winds at 8-10 mph. Overnight, temperatures will drop to 51°F, accompanied by calmer skies.
Looking ahead, South Florida can expect improving conditions heading into the weekend. Friday will be partly cloudy with highs near 62°F, followed by sunny skies and highs near 69°F on Saturday. Sunday will see warmer temperatures, reaching 73°F under partly sunny skies.
Residents should monitor local forecasts for updates and exercise caution while traveling in low-visibility areas. Boaters and beachgoers are encouraged to stay informed about changing weather patterns to ensure safety.
