Florida greets the morning wrapped in low fog that softens streetlights and blurs headlights.
Moist air hangs close to the ground across Jacksonville, slowing visibility before sunrise.
According to the National Weather Service in Jacksonville, patchy fog is developing early, especially near waterways and low-lying neighborhoods. Visibility may briefly drop for drivers during the morning commute, particularly along I-95, I-10, and surface streets near the St. Johns River.
Temperatures start in the low to mid-40s, cool by Florida standards. Calm winds and high humidity allow fog to linger early, though it clears steadily after sunrise. Drivers are urged to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and allow extra stopping distance.
Once the fog lifts, conditions improve fast. Sunshine breaks through by mid-morning, and temperatures climb into the upper 60s this afternoon. The air feels mild and comfortable, with light winds offering little resistance to warming.
By Tuesday, the warmup accelerates. Highs surge into the upper 70s, giving Jacksonville an almost springlike feel. Morning fog may redevelop, but it clears quickly again under strengthening sunshine.
Midweek stays warm. Wednesday and Thursday bring highs in the low to mid-70s, with partly cloudy skies and dry conditions. Nights remain mild, holding in the low to mid-50s.
Late week and the weekend introduce scattered rain chances, mainly Friday into Sunday. Showers appear light and intermittent, but slick roads could develop briefly during heavier bursts. Temperatures remain well above normal for February.
Looking into the 6–10 day outlook, above-average warmth continues across much of Florida. While foggy mornings remain possible, no significant cold snaps are on the horizon.
