Melbourne, FL – A cold front approaching East Central Florida will bring scattered showers, breezy conditions, and beach hazards today, with drier and seasonable weather settling in for the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, showers over the Atlantic waters will continue to move onshore this morning, with additional showers developing this afternoon and evening as the front nears. While rainfall will be hit-or-miss, isolated lightning storms cannot be ruled out later today, especially along the coast and nearby inland areas.

Rain chances today range from 30–40% across Orlando, Melbourne, Daytona Beach, and Fort Pierce, tapering off tonight as the front weakens while moving south. Not all locations are expected to see rain.

Beach and marine conditions are a concern. Forecasters warn of poor to hazardous offshore seas today and tonight, along with a moderate risk of rip currents at all area beaches. Beachgoers are urged to swim near lifeguards and use caution in the surf.

Temperatures will remain warm and breezy today, with highs generally in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Behind the front, Friday turns dry and warm, though cooler nighttime temperatures are expected, especially across northern locations where lows may dip into the upper 40s to 50s.

Looking ahead, Saturday and Sunday are expected to be dry and seasonable, with highs in the low to mid-70s and comfortable overnight lows. By Monday, most areas remain dry, though isolated showers may return, mainly along the coast.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to monitor beach conditions, keep an eye on the radar today, and plan outdoor activities accordingly as the front moves through.
