Florence, SC – The Florence County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects connected to a copper wire theft from a local communications tower.

According to investigators, the incident occurred on January 12, 2026, at a tower site located at 2423 Walker-Swinton Road in Florence. The suspects allegedly damaged and removed coastal cables containing copper, which were used to carry radio signals to antennas. Surveillance photographs of the suspects were released on Wednesday.

Authorities urge anyone with knowledge of the suspects or the theft to contact the Florence County Sheriff’s Office at (843) 665-2121, ext. 8071, or submit a tip through the FCSO app. Tips can also be made anonymously to Crime Stoppers of the Pee Dee by calling (843) 713-TIPS (8477).

A cash reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of those responsible.

The sheriff’s office reminded residents that even minor copper thefts can cause major disruptions to communications systems and cost thousands in repairs.
