Florence, SC – A Florence County woman was arrested Wednesday in connection with a 2023 cold case murder that investigators say stemmed from an armed robbery on Pindo Court.
According to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, 33-year-old Deporcha Devorica Miller was taken into custody on November 20, 2025, and is now charged with murder, attempted murder, and armed robbery tied to the April 8, 2023 killing of Rashawn Dickerson.
According to investigators, Miller allegedly participated in the armed robbery while Dickerson was sitting in his vehicle. Deputies say Dickerson was shot multiple times and died at the scene. A second occupant in the vehicle also suffered multiple gunshot wounds during the attack, according to authorities.
Investigators further allege that Miller was present when the second victim was shot and that she is also accused of stealing a shotgun from the trunk of Dickerson’s vehicle during the incident. The Sheriff’s Office noted that the investigation remained active for more than two years before Wednesday’s arrest.
Miller is currently being held at the Florence County Detention Center while she awaits a bond hearing. Deputies said no further information will be released at this time as the investigation remains ongoing.
The charges against Miller include Murder (S.C. Code Ann. 16-3-10), Attempted Murder (S.C. Code Ann. 16-3-29), and Armed Robbery (S.C. Code Ann. 16-11-330(A)).
Residents with information connected to the case are encouraged to contact the Florence County Sheriff’s Office or submit a tip through its official website. Authorities have not announced whether additional arrests may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
