Flora, IL – A Flora woman was arrested this week after state police said she allegedly provided harmful material and alcohol to a minor earlier this year.

According to the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 8, 24-year-old Jaryn L. Allen was taken into custody Thursday on charges of harmful material, a Class 4 felony, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a Class A misdemeanor. Police said the allegations stem from reported incidents that occurred between March 1 and May 7 in Clay County.

Investigators said they were asked by the Flora Police Department on May 8 to look into a report that Allen had allegedly distributed harmful material and provided alcohol to a minor. Following a three-month investigation, ISP Special Agents presented their findings to the Clay County State’s Attorney’s Office, which approved the charges.

Allen was arrested on an outstanding warrant and booked into the Clay County Jail, where police said she is being held without bond until she appears before a judge. No additional information about the case has been released.

Authorities stressed that the charges are only allegations at this stage, and Allen is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
