Paducah, KY – Western Kentucky is under a Flood Watch as a major storm system moves in, bringing heavy rain Friday night through Saturday.
The NWS forecasts 2 to 5 inches of rainfall, with thunderstorms increasing the risk of localized flooding. Residents near rivers and flood-prone areas should take precautions now. Road conditions could quickly deteriorate, and travel delays are likely.
Saturday’s high will reach 56°F before a sharp cooldown Sunday, dropping temperatures into the 30s. Winds will increase, and by Monday night, wind chills could dip into the single digits. Snow chances rise Tuesday into Wednesday, making for a challenging start to next week.
Authorities urge residents to avoid flooded roads, have emergency supplies ready, and check for updates as conditions evolve.
