La Crosse, WI – The National Weather Service has issued an extended flood watch for portions of Wisconsin, including areas along the Black and Yellow Rivers. Residents in affected counties should stay vigilant as river levels rise.
According to the National Weather Service, the Black River near Galesville is under a flood watch from Wednesday evening until early Thursday afternoon. At 7.6 feet, the river is expected to reach flood stage (12.0 feet) by Wednesday evening. Flooding could affect wildlands and agricultural areas, with possible flooding near the County Road VV Bridge.
Additionally, the Yellow River at Necedah is also under a flood watch from Wednesday afternoon until Tuesday, April 8. The river’s current stage is 12.8 feet, and it is expected to surpass flood stage (15.0 feet) by Wednesday afternoon, potentially causing impacts in Juneau County.
