Hickman, KY – The National Weather Service in Paducah has extended a Flood Warning for the Mississippi River near Hickman, with minor flooding expected to persist until Saturday, March 1.
According to the NWS, the river is cresting at 37.4 feet as of Friday morning and is expected to begin falling by Friday night. However, water levels will remain above the flood stage of 34 feet until next weekend.
Officials urge motorists to avoid flooded roads and not drive around barricades. Residents in low-lying areas should remain cautious as water levels gradually recede.
