Nashville, TN – The National Weather Service has extended the flood warnings for the Duck River in Tennessee, with moderate flooding forecasted through the middle of the week. The warning affects areas along the river, including Centerville, Columbia, Hurricane Mills, and surrounding communities.
According to the National Weather Service, the Duck River at Centerville reached 25.1 feet by 8:00 PM CDT on Sunday, with forecasts predicting the river will crest at 23 feet near Hurricane Mills by Monday afternoon. The river is expected to fall below flood stage by Wednesday afternoon.
The NWS urges residents to avoid floodwaters and reminds the public to “turn around, don’t drown” when encountering flooded roads. Flooding is particularly affecting Tumbling Creek Road east of Highway 13, where up to two feet of water may make the road impassable. Motorists and residents are encouraged to stay informed and take precautions.
