Fort Wayne, IN – Flood warnings remain in effect for multiple rivers across northern Indiana and parts of Ohio as heavy rainfall continues to impact the region. The National Weather Service issued advisories Monday evening, highlighting minor flooding along several river systems, including the Wabash, Maumee, Saint Joseph, and Saint Marys rivers.

According to the National Weather Service, the Wabash River near Linn Grove and Bluffton, Indiana, is expected to reach minor flood stages, affecting areas in Wells and Adams counties. The Maumee River near Defiance, Ohio, also faces flooding risks, as does the Saint Joseph River near Newville in both Allen County, IN, and De Kalb County, OH.

The flood warning has been extended for the Tiffin River at Stryker, Ohio, and the Auglaize River near Fort Jennings, Ohio, with minor flooding expected in nearby agricultural areas. The North Branch Elkhart River at Cosperville is also under warning for potential flooding impacts in Noble County.

Motorists are advised to avoid flooded areas and roadblocks, as driving around barricades can be dangerous. Authorities emphasize the “Turn around, don’t drown” campaign to reduce flood-related fatalities. The current warnings are expected to last through the week, with river levels slowly receding into Thursday and Friday.
