Paducah, KY – The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a flash flood warning for multiple counties in Kentucky, including Hopkins, McLean, Webster, Christian, Muhlenberg, Caldwell, Lyon, and Trigg counties. The warning remains in effect until 12:15 p.m. CST Sunday.
Heavy rainfall between 1 and 3 inches has already fallen across the warned area, with an additional 1 to 2 inches expected, increasing the risk of flash flooding. According to the National Weather Service, flash flooding is either ongoing or expected to begin shortly, impacting low-lying areas, creeks, highways, and urban locations.
Residents in areas such as Madisonville, Princeton, and Dawson Springs are urged to exercise caution. Authorities advise avoiding flooded roads and to “Turn around, don’t drown,” as most flood-related fatalities occur in vehicles.
