Flagstaff, Arizona – Flagstaff residents could see a few isolated thunderstorms roll through Friday afternoon, but clear skies and rising temperatures will dominate the weekend forecast.

According to the National Weather Service, there’s a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. Friday, with high temperatures near 86°F. Winds will shift southwest, gusting up to 24 mph in the afternoon. Skies will clear overnight with temperatures dipping into the low 50s.

Saturday and Sunday bring full sunshine and a return to mid-summer heat, with highs reaching 87°F and 88°F respectively. Gusty southwest winds up to 29 mph are expected midday Saturday, especially in exposed areas and open roadways like I-17 and U.S. Route 89.

Locals planning outdoor activities should stay hydrated and avoid peak sun hours between 1 and 4 p.m. Elevated UV levels and dry air could raise wildfire concerns, particularly in Coconino and Yavapai counties.

The brief storm chance Friday will give way to several days of dry, breezy conditions. Another slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms returns Tuesday and Wednesday next week.

⚠️ Reminders: Wind gusts may pick up each afternoon; always check for fire weather updates before outdoor burning or hiking.
