Flagstaff, Ariz. – Mostly sunny skies and rising temperatures will greet much of Arizona on Friday, offering a break before another windy weekend moves in.

According to the National Weather Service in Flagstaff, high temperatures will reach the upper 60s to low 70s in northern regions like Flagstaff and Window Rock, while cities farther south—such as Phoenix and Yuma—can expect highs in the upper 80s. Southwest winds between 10 and 20 mph are forecast throughout the day.

In Flagstaff and Show Low, conditions will feel seasonable and mild, with lighter winds earlier in the day. However, gusts may pick up by late afternoon across central and western Arizona, including Kingman and Prescott. Drivers on I-40 and I-17 should be prepared for occasional crosswinds, especially in exposed areas.

The warmer, calmer weather is expected to be short-lived, as stronger winds are likely to return over the weekend. Residents are advised to secure outdoor items and limit burning activity during breezy conditions.

More detailed weekend advisories may be issued, with wind alerts possible for Saturday.
