Flagstaff, AZ – Gusty winds and cooler temperatures are sweeping through Northern Arizona, with a wind advisory in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday. Residents can expect winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts reaching 50 mph.
According to the National Weather Service, the strongest winds will affect the Little Colorado River Valley, Mogollon Rim, and White Mountains. Tree limbs may snap, and power outages are possible. Drivers of high-profile vehicles, including RVs and trailers, should exercise caution on highways such as I-40 and U.S. Route 89.
By Wednesday, winds will calm slightly, with speeds between 7 and 17 mph. Temperatures will remain cool, with a high near 50°F and a nighttime low of 22°F. Sunny conditions will persist, providing a much-needed break from the blustery start to the week.
Looking ahead, the rest of the week will see a gradual warming trend. Highs will climb to 58°F on Thursday and 61°F on Friday, with mostly clear skies. The weekend will bring even warmer temperatures, reaching the mid-60s by Sunday.
Residents should secure loose outdoor items, remain cautious while driving, and prepare for improving weather as spring takes hold.
