Flagstaff, Ariz. – Northern Arizona is bracing for another stretch of dangerous heat this week as triple-digit temperatures grip lower elevations and dry conditions dominate. Cities including Sedona, Prescott, and Camp Verde are forecast to reach 100 degrees or higher through at least Friday, raising concerns for outdoor workers, travelers, and vulnerable residents.
According to the National Weather Service in Flagstaff, monsoon activity will remain limited, with only higher elevations likely to see isolated showers by midweek. Until then, most of the region stays dry with persistent heat at or above seasonal averages. Sedona is expected to peak near 104 on Tuesday, while Winslow and Page remain locked in the upper 90s to near 100.
The combination of heat and dry air will stress power demand and increase the risk of dehydration and heat-related illness. Officials advise limiting outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours, drinking water frequently, and checking on elderly neighbors or those without air conditioning.
Communities from Flagstaff to Show Low will see slightly cooler highs in the 80s, but even those areas face limited relief under strong sun.
The heat is expected to linger through late week, with the next chance of widespread storms not arriving until midweek.
