Flagstaff, AZ – Heavy rainfall from the remnants of Tropical Storm Priscilla has drenched much of northern and central Arizona, with some areas recording between 2 and 5 inches of rain by Saturday morning.
According to the U.S. National Weather Service in Flagstaff, the heaviest rainfall stretched from Cave Creek to Happy Jack, roughly 50 miles southeast of where forecasters initially projected the main plume earlier this week. The corridor saw the most significant precipitation impacts, while surrounding regions including Sedona, Prescott, Williams, and Flagstaff also reported more than an inch of rainfall.
The National Weather Service noted that rainfall totals have exceeded early-week forecasts, prompting localized flooding concerns in parts of the high country and low-lying desert valleys. Motorists are advised to use caution, as saturated ground conditions could lead to debris flows or temporary road closures in flood-prone areas.
Meteorologists continue to monitor lingering moisture moving northeast through the weekend, with additional showers possible through Saturday evening.
Residents are encouraged to follow local weather alerts and report any flooding to local authorities.
