Fitchburg, WI – Reckless Driver Arrested After Multiple Vehicle Accident

Fitchburg, WI — A high-speed chase through Fitchburg ended in a multi-vehicle crash and an arrest on Sunday morning. Around 11:20 a.m., Fitchburg Police reportedly observed a vehicle driving recklessly near Fish Hatchery Road and Greenway Cross. The suspect allegedly ignored traffic signals and endangered drivers and pedestrians by entering oncoming traffic.

According to Fitchburg Police, officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver reportedly fled into the City of Madison. The pursuit continued through multiple intersections. At Prairie Road and Raymond Road, the suspect ran another red light, crashing into two vehicles.

The driver of the first struck vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital with possible injuries. The second driver involved was uninjured. Officers arrested 21-year-old Kareem Collins of Madison at the scene of the crash.

Collins was booked into Dane County Jail on multiple charges, including second-degree recklessly endangering safety and fleeing an officer. Additional traffic violations were cited, including operating with a revoked license.
