St. Louis, MO – Missouri may see its first snowflakes of the season before Thanksgiving, as colder air moves into the Midwest and unsettled weather develops across the central U.S., according to the NOAA Climate Prediction Center (CPC).

NOAA’s October 24, 2025 outlook shows warmer-than-average temperatures through early November. However, between November 15–23, a surge of colder Canadian air could push into Missouri, bringing the potential for light snow or a rain-snow mix in St. Louis, Kansas City, and Springfield.

Forecasters say northern Missouri could see a light accumulation, while central and southern sections will likely see only flurries or chilly rain. Temperatures are expected to dip near or below freezing overnight, creating slick travel conditions for early holiday drivers.

While not a major storm, NOAA notes this pattern marks the state’s first transition toward winter, right on schedule for late November.
