Reno, NV – Nevada could see its first measurable snow of the season before Thanksgiving, as colder Pacific storms track across the Sierra Nevada and northern ranges, according to the NOAA Climate Prediction Center (CPC).

The October 24, 2025 outlook shows mild and dry conditions early this month, but forecasters expect a pattern shift around November 12–21. That could bring light to moderate snow to Reno and Elko, with the Sierra front seeing 2–4 inches at higher elevations.

Southern Nevada, including Las Vegas, will stay too warm for snow but could experience cooler temperatures and gusty winds as the cold front sweeps through before Thanksgiving week.

While totals will remain modest, NOAA says this marks the start of Nevada’s winter transition, with more widespread snow chances expected by early December.
