Omaha, NE – Nebraska may see its first measurable snow of the season before Thanksgiving, as colder air settles across the Central Plains, according to the NOAA Climate Prediction Center (CPC).
The October 24, 2025 NOAA outlook calls for above-normal temperatures early in November. But by November 15–23, forecasters expect a pattern shift that could bring colder air and scattered snow showers to Omaha, Lincoln, and Grand Island.
Northern and central Nebraska are most likely to see early accumulation — generally under an inch — while southern areas will stay mostly rain or frost. The timing of this transition could align with Thanksgiving travel, potentially causing slick roads during overnight hours.
NOAA notes that while this is not a major winter storm, it may mark the start of the state’s winter pattern, signaling colder and more active weather heading into December.
