Hartford, CT – Connecticut’s first snowfall of the season may arrive sooner than expected, as forecasters watch a potential pattern change before Thanksgiving that could deliver cold air and light snow inland.
According to the NOAA Climate Prediction Center (CPC) update issued October 24, 2025, the state will stay warmer and mostly dry through the first half of November. However, models suggest colder air could sweep south by November 18–24, dropping temperatures enough for flurries or light accumulation across Hartford, Waterbury, and northern Litchfield County.
Coastal areas like Bridgeport and New Haven are expected to stay too warm for snow, seeing mainly chilly rain as Thanksgiving approaches. But even light snow inland could impact early holiday travel if the front arrives close to the holiday weekend.
While not a major storm setup, NOAA says this could mark the season’s first wintry event for parts of Connecticut—and a hint of what’s to come in December.
