Casper, WY – Wyoming could see its first significant snow of the season before Thanksgiving, as colder air and mountain systems move across the northern Rockies, according to the NOAA Climate Prediction Center (CPC).
The October 24, 2025 NOAA outlook shows near-average temperatures early in November, but a shift toward colder, more active conditions by November 12–22. That window could bring light to moderate snow to Casper, Cheyenne, and Jackson, with higher totals likely in the Teton and Wind River ranges.
Forecasters say accumulation could range from 1–3 inches in lower elevations to 6 inches or more in mountain zones. Roads along I-25 and I-80 may see slick or icy patches, especially during early morning commutes or holiday travel periods.
While the system is not expected to be severe, NOAA notes this pattern marks the state’s transition into winter, setting the stage for more frequent storms in December.
