Baltimore, MD – The first snowflakes of the season could make an appearance in Maryland before Thanksgiving, as forecasters track colder air moving south into the region later this month.

According to the NOAA Climate Prediction Center (CPC) forecast released October 24, 2025, Maryland will remain warmer and mostly dry through the first half of November. But by November 18–24, a dip in the jet stream could pull Canadian air into the Appalachian foothills and western counties, setting the stage for light snow in Frederick and Hagerstown—and possibly flurries north and west of Baltimore.

While coastal and southern Maryland will stay too warm for snow, inland areas could see the first dusting or mixed precipitation if colder air deepens ahead of Thanksgiving.

NOAA says this won’t be a major winter storm, but it may signal the start of the state’s snow season, right as holiday travel ramps up.
