Newark, NJ – New Jersey could see its first snowflakes of the season before Thanksgiving, as colder air sweeps into the Northeast and sets up a brief window for early wintry weather across the northern half of the state.

According to the NOAA Climate Prediction Center (CPC) outlook released October 24, 2025, New Jersey will stay warmer and mostly dry through early November. But temperatures are forecast to dip mid- to late-month, opening the door for light snow or flurries across Newark, Trenton, and Morristown between November 18–24.

North and Central Jersey are most likely to see the first flakes, particularly inland and at higher elevations. South Jersey and the Shore should remain rain-only, though a quick cold front near Thanksgiving could bring frosty mornings across the state.

NOAA says this setup doesn’t suggest a major storm—but the timing could still mean slick travel or reduced visibility for commuters and early holiday travelers.
