Denver, CO – Colorado could see its first widespread snow of the season before Thanksgiving, as colder Pacific air and early winter systems move across the Rockies, according to the NOAA Climate Prediction Center (CPC).

NOAA’s October 24, 2025 outlook shows warmer-than-normal temperatures early in November, but by November 15–23, a shift toward colder and stormier conditions could bring light to moderate snow along the Front Range, including Denver, Colorado Springs, and Fort Collins.

Mountain areas west of I-25 are expected to see higher totals, with 1–4 inches possible in foothill zones, while the urban corridor could receive a dusting to an inch. Temperatures are forecast to dip below freezing during early mornings, raising the risk of slick travel and patchy ice as the holiday week approaches.

Forecasters say this may not be a major winter storm, but it will likely mark Colorado’s first true winter pattern shift, with colder air and more frequent mountain snow expected into December.
