Orland Park, IL – Firefighters responded swiftly to a reported house fire early Saturday in Orland Park, safely evacuating the lone resident and ensuring no injuries were reported.

According to the Orland Fire Protection District (OFPD), crews were dispatched at 6:30 a.m. to the 15600 Block of 112th Court after receiving a structure fire call. Upon arrival, OFPD Engine Company #3 observed heavy smoke and visible flames coming from the residence. Firefighters deployed a hoseline and immediately initiated an aggressive attack on the fire as Battalion 6 arrived to upgrade the alarm.

Crews quickly gained entry, confirmed all occupants were out, and ventilated the roof to control the spread. The fire was extinguished shortly after their arrival, and an all-clear was issued. The homeowner had evacuated safely before crews arrived, and pets had also been removed from the home. No injuries were reported among residents or fire personnel.

“The quick response of our Firefighters to the fire scene helped to ensure no one was injured and the fire did not spread further,” Interim Fire Chief John Purtili said in a statement.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation and has yet to be determined, officials said.

Firefighters from Tinley Fire, Palos Fire, Oak Forest Fire, Homer Fire, Northwest Homer Fire, Mokena Fire, and Frankfort Fire assisted at the scene, providing both response and station coverage during the incident.
