Washington, D.C. – The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has expanded its ongoing public health alert to include additional brands of ground cinnamon found to contain elevated levels of lead, including products sold at Dollar Tree stores.

According to the updated advisory, the Supreme Tradition Ground Cinnamon, distributed by Greenbrier International, Inc., has been added to the list of affected products. The item, sold nationwide through Dollar Tree, showed lead concentrations above safe levels for consumption.

The FDA is urging consumers to check their spice cabinets immediately and stop using any affected cinnamon products. Long-term exposure to lead can cause serious health effects, especially in children and pregnant women, including developmental delays and neurological damage.

Other recalled brands include La Fiesta, Marcum, MTCI, Swad, and Supreme Tradition, among others. The agency recommends consumers discard any impacted products and thoroughly clean containers or surfaces where the spice was stored.

The FDA continues to investigate the source of the contamination and is working with manufacturers to remove affected items from store shelves. Consumers can find the full list of recalled cinnamon brands on the FDA’s official website.
