Pittsburgh, PA – A Fayette County man who had been a fugitive for nearly five years was arrested Wednesday morning in Morgantown, West Virginia, according to the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus announced that 47-year-old Craig Owen David was declared a fugitive in November 2020 after he allegedly failed to appear for a pre-trial conference in a firearms case filed by the Jefferson Hills Police Department earlier that year.

Detectives said they developed credible information this week that David was residing in Morgantown. According to investigators, further checks confirmed he was living in an apartment on Brookhaven Road.

With assistance from the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office, deputies located and identified David around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities reported he was taken into custody without incident.

David was transported to the North Central Regional Jail in West Virginia. He will remain there until extradition proceedings return him to Allegheny County, where he faces charges connected to the original firearms case.
