Fayette County, IA – Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies made multiple operating-while-intoxicated arrests early Sunday morning in separate incidents near Clermont and Waucoma, according to a department statement.
At approximately 2:30 a.m. on November 16, deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Apple Road and Alberta Road in Clermont. Following an investigation, Michael Brandon Knickerbocker was arrested and charged with Operating While Intoxicated and Possession of Marijuana 1st Offense, both serious misdemeanors. Patrick David Mason, 19, of McGregor, was also taken into custody for Possession of Marijuana 1st Offense. Both men were transported to the Fayette County Jail.
Less than two hours earlier, around 12:42 a.m. on November 15, deputies responded to Nature Road and M Avenue after receiving a report of an abandoned emergency call. When they arrived, they found a red Jeep Grand Cherokee in a farm field with emergency flashers on and a body lying nearby.
The driver, Jesus Daniel Tinajero-Lule, 22, of Waucoma, had reportedly lost control of his vehicle while traveling westbound, entering a ditch and stopping in the field. Deputies determined that Tinajero-Lule showed signs of impairment and later arrested him for Operating While Intoxicated, First Offense, and Failure to Maintain Control.
All three individuals were taken to the Fayette County Jail to await appearances before a magistrate.
