Fayette, IA – Two men are facing felony drug charges after Fayette County deputies executed a search warrant in Hawkeye on Wednesday night, leading to the seizure of methamphetamine and marijuana.

According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested Brian Michael Rohrick, 57, of Oelwein, on a Fayette County warrant for failure to appear. Rohrick was also allegedly charged with possession of a controlled substance, third offense – methamphetamine, a Class D felony.

Following his arrest, deputies executed a search warrant around 8:54 p.m. at 228 W. Main St. in Hawkeye. During the search, methamphetamine and marijuana were seized. Brian David Coonradt, 61, of Hawkeye, was allegedly charged with multiple offenses, including possession of methamphetamine (Class D felony), intent to deliver/manufacture methamphetamine under 5 grams (Class C felony), possession of marijuana, third offense (aggravated misdemeanor), and possession of drug paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor).

Both Rohrick and Coonradt were transported to the Fayette County Jail, where they await an initial appearance. Deputies noted that the West Union Police Department K-9 Unit assisted in the investigation, which remains ongoing.
