Upon arrival, deputies determined that Michael Richard Stodola, 44, of Clermont, was allegedly intoxicated and was arrested for public intoxication, a simple misdemeanor. Investigators say William Durnan, 49, of Elgin, was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated and was arrested on charges of operating while intoxicated, first offense, and failure to maintain control. Later that evening, at approximately 8:18 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 4000 block of N Avenue in Stanley.
