Mokena, IL – An 18-year-old woman from Frankfort was killed in a two-vehicle crash early Friday morning at the intersection of Illinois Route 30 and Owens Road in Mokena. Courtney Miller, a passenger in a Chevrolet Camaro, was pronounced dead at 12:22 a.m., according to the Will County Coroner’s Office.
The collision involved a Camaro and a Land Rover driven by 47-year-old Scott Hersted of Mokena. Preliminary reports indicate that the Land Rover was traveling west on Illinois Route 30, also known as Lincoln Highway, and was attempting to turn left onto southbound Owens Road when the crash occurred. Hersted has been cited for failure to yield while making the left turn.
