Peoria, IL – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening at the intersection of Knoxville Avenue and Orchard Place, according to Peoria police.
Authorities responded to the scene around 6:53 p.m., where they found an adult female lying on the ground. A bystander was administering emergency aid before paramedics arrived, but the woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Peoria County Coroner was present, and police confirmed that the driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene. Initial reports indicate the vehicle was traveling on Knoxville Avenue when the collision occurred.
