New London, NH – One person was killed, and another was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash early Friday morning in New London.
At 12:50 a.m., New London Police and Sunapee officers, along with local EMS and the fire department, responded to a crash on Little Sunapee Road. A 2024 Hyundai Elantra had failed to navigate a right-hand curve, striking a utility trailer parked along the roadside. The car then caught fire.
The driver, Vincent Mendilo, 27, of Mission Viejo, California, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. A passenger, whose name has been withheld, died at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.
New Hampshire’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating the incident alongside local police and fire officials. The cause of the crash is currently unknown.
