Jasper County, IN – A fiery car crash early Saturday claimed the life of a 19-year-old from LaCrosse, Indiana.
Jasper County Sheriff’s Office stated the crash occurred at 4:26 a.m. near the intersection of County Road 400 W. and 1700 N. A caller reported pulling one individual from the burning vehicle before deputies arrived.
Upon arrival, deputies found a Subaru Impreza engulfed in flames in a ditch south of County Road 1700 N. Authorities identified the deceased driver as a 19-year-old male. Deputies could not extract him from the vehicle.
The passenger, rescued by the caller, was airlifted to Memorial Hospital in South Bend. His condition remains unknown.
Investigators revealed the Subaru was heading southbound on County Road 400 W. The driver disregarded a stop sign at the T-intersection, veered off the road, and crashed. The vehicle caught fire on impact.
