Chatsworth, IL – A 57-year-old Chatsworth man died after his pickup collided with a parked semi-tractor trailer Wednesday morning.
According to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 8:30 a.m. to the crash on 3350 East Road near 700 North Road in rural Chatsworth. Authorities discovered the southbound pickup truck had struck a parked semi with a flatbed trailer loaded with construction equipment. The force of the collision caused the pickup to mount the flatbed before hitting the equipment.
The driver, identified as Thomas Stadler of Chatsworth, was transported to a local hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. The sheriff’s office confirmed that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Officials have not disclosed what may have caused the crash or if weather or road conditions played a role. Residents in the area expressed concern over safety on rural roads with limited visibility and parked vehicles.
