Fargo, ND – A fatal motorcycle crash occurred on July 4th at the intersection of 25th St S and 13th Ave S in Fargo. A 2014 Harley Davidson, operated by a 47-year-old man, was eastbound on 13th Ave and entered the intersection against a red light. A Mazda 3 traveling south on 25th St S struck the motorcycle in the front right corner.
Both occupants of the Harley Davidson were ejected from the motorcycle. The 47-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, neither the driver nor the passenger, a 19-year-old woman, was wearing a helmet.
The 19-year-old passenger sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Sanford Ambulance in Fargo. The two occupants of the Mazda were taken to Essentia Hospital in Fargo with non-life-threatening injuries.
The names of the individuals involved will be released on Friday, July 5th, or earlier on Thursday, July 6th. The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol. This tragic incident highlights the critical importance of adhering to traffic signals and wearing helmets while riding motorcycles.
