Grand Forks, ND – The National Weather Service in Grand Forks has issued a series of Winter Weather Advisories for eastern North Dakota and western to central Minnesota, warning of 2–5 inches of snow and wind gusts up to 35 mph that will make travel hazardous throughout Tuesday.

Snow is expected to begin overnight in north-central North Dakota and spread east through Fargo, Grand Forks, Detroit Lakes, and Bemidji by Tuesday morning. The heaviest snow is likely during the morning and afternoon commutes, with periods of blowing snow reducing visibility across open areas.

Advisories are in effect from midnight through Tuesday evening, with slightly different start times by region:

  • Towner, Benson, Ramsey, Eddy, and Nelson Counties (ND): Midnight–Noon Tuesday.
  • Grand Forks, Fargo, and southeast ND counties: 6 a.m.–6 p.m. Tuesday.
  • Northwest and west-central MN (Wadena, Polk, Otter Tail, Becker): 9 a.m.–Midnight Tuesday night.

Drivers are urged to slow down, allow extra travel time, and keep emergency supplies in vehicles. Roads may quickly become icy and snow-covered, especially on bridges and overpasses.
