Orland Park, IL – Families in Orland Park will have the chance to kick off the Halloween season early during the annual Great Pumpkin Party, taking place Saturday, October 4, at Centennial Park.

According to the Village of Orland Park, the fall-themed event will feature pony rides, inflatables, hayrides, candy stations, train car rides, and a variety of children’s games. The party also includes seasonal favorites like pumpkin weight guessing, trunk-or-treat, and a children’s costume contest.

Two sessions are available for attendees: 10 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Registration is required and includes access to all activities, one pie-sized pumpkin per child, and a goodie bag. The event is geared toward children ages 1 through 9, and all children must be accompanied by a registered adult.

The costume contest will be led by a DJ during each session, with prizes awarded for Best Costume and Most Creative Costume. Children will have the opportunity to show off their costumes at 10:30 a.m. during the morning session or 1:30 p.m. in the afternoon.

Ticket prices are $5 for residents and $7 for non-residents ages 3 and older, while children under 2 can attend for free. Registration for Orland Park residents runs August 7–20, and open registration for both residents and non-residents continues through October 4.

The event will take place rain or shine at Centennial Park, located at 15600 West Avenue, near the Ice Rink/Warming House. Organizers note that refunds are not available except in cases of government-mandated cancellations.
