Fairfield County, OH – Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance today after suspects allegedly opened a fraudulent credit account and stole nearly $5,000 in merchandise from a Home Depot in Canal Winchester earlier this month.

According to the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on November 5, 2025, when the suspects allegedly created a credit card account using a victim’s identity. Deputies said the suspects then purchased $4,998 worth of flooring from the store.

Investigators report the flooring was loaded into a stolen rental box truck, which deputies say had been taken from a Home Depot location in Pennsylvania. The suspects allegedly left the scene in that vehicle. The truck bears a Pennsylvania license plate: ZWS6233.

Deputy S. Norris is requesting assistance from residents in Fairfield County, Franklin County, and surrounding areas who may recognize the suspects or have seen the truck. The Sheriff’s Office believes community tips could play a critical role in identifying those involved.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Deputy Norris at (740) 652-7911 or via email at shawn.norris@fairfieldcountyohio.gov.

Residents are encouraged to review home or business security footage from November 5 if they were near Canal Winchester or along major routes connecting Ohio and Pennsylvania.
